Summary

Overview:
  • This position will be responsible for providing support to business units and the direct team by working across several simultaneous projects and programs. Key responsibilities include producing standard and ad-hoc reports and dashboards; creating new metrics while expanding on existing ones; and leveraging data captured via departmental databases (SQL) or other available data sources. The position will also drive continuous improvement by evaluating data quality, reporting processes, and analytical outputs to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and meaningful insights for decision-making.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Leverage SQL and data tools to build complex datasets and deliver insights through dashboards, reports, and presentations (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Develop, maintain, and automate departmental reporting and workflows using ETL/orchestration tools (SSIS, Power Automate, Automic).
  • Perform analytical work-including statistical, qualitative, and reconciliation activities-to support business decisions and ensure data accuracy.
  • Improve processes by identifying efficiencies, enhancing documentation, and building tools that support operational excellence.
  • Participate in (and occasionally lead) the planning, testing, and implementation of new projects, systems, products, and regulatory changes.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and partner with technology, vendors, and business stakeholders to resolve escalations.
  • Support audits, user certifications, and compliance activities by maintaining required documentation and adhering to internal control standards.
  • Uphold M&T's risk, compliance, and operational policies while promoting an inclusive, collaborative, and brand-aligned team environment.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support evolving business priorities.

Experience and Education Required:
  • Bachelors and a minimum of 2 years related business line experience,
  • OR in lieu of a degree,
  • A combined minimum of 6 years higher education and/or work experience.
