Genesis10 is currently seeking a Middleware Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. The Middleware Engineer will lead end-to-end administration duties for critical banking platforms, delivering middleware infrastructure for enterprise projects and regulatory initiatives. This role ensures production stability, platform remediation, patching, and upgrades while mitigating and managing risk. The engineer will serve as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource, providing technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member and individual contributor.
Responsibilities: - Participate in the design, development, and implementation of systems engineering activities, including OS technical support, systems programming, and data center capabilities
- Perform middleware installation, configuration, risk mitigation, performance tuning, and troubleshooting as L3 production support
- Collaborate with application and testing teams on a daily basis, providing middleware advice, consultation, and support
- Create, maintain, and support application deployment templates, serving as a J2EE architect and making recommendations on J2EE best practices
- Design middleware infrastructure and topology for high availability and failover capability
- Provide technical consultation to other team members and supported areas
- Execute production changes for integrated and regulatory releases with precision
Requirements: - 3 or more years of experience as a Java/J2EE Middleware Engineer
- Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS), J2EE, and JBoss
- Experience with one or more of the following Middleware products: Appian, Software AG WEB METHODS
- Linux Operating System experience
- Java/Container Framework experience
- Experience with one of the following scripting languages: shell, python, jython, or perl
- Experience with one or more of the following Release/Deploy Tools: Ansible, Ansible Tower, XLR, BitBucket, or Celestial
Desired skills: - 5 or more years of Middleware Engineering experience
- Experience with one or more of the following Middleware products: WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat, Apache, or Spring Boot
- DEVOPS experience
- Experience with products such as BMC Remedy, Harmon mDeliver, or BMC Bladelogic Server Automation
- Understanding of Network infrastructure (HTTP/S, TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, Load-balancers, firewalls, proxies, B2B links)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail
Pay range: $58.31 - $66.31 per hour
