Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network Operations Support Engineer for a hybrid position (3 days onsite per week) with a Global Financial Institution located in Chandler, AZ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role focuses on the operational support of complex network environments, including switching, routing, and firewalls. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying service impacts and production failures by interpreting monitors, dashboards, and logs from tools such as Splunk, SevOne, Cisco NexACI, and Arista CloudVision.
Responsibilities: - Provide operational support of network environments including switching, routing, firewall, traffic management, content inspection, and DNS
- Identify service impact, interpret monitors, dashboards, traffic captures, and logs using tools like Splunk, SevOne, IBM Watson AI Ops, Wireshark, NetScout, and Gigamon
- Use Cisco NexACI, Arista CloudVision, and VMware vSphere for operational tasks
- Identify possible production failure scenarios through eyes-on-glass monitoring of IT infrastructure services
- Initiate production support triage efforts for network infrastructure incidents, manage bridge line troubleshooting, and engage appropriate teams
- Provide status updates and technical detail for awareness communications
- Ensure data quality and completion of incident tickets, including accurate impact documentation
- Promote and enforce production governance during triage and fix efforts
- Adhere to design standards and global design authority processes and procedures
Requirements: - Experience with monitoring and analysis tools: Splunk, SevOne, IBM Watson AI Ops, Wireshark, NetScout, and Gigamon
- Experience with network hardware and software: Cisco NexACI, Arista CloudVision, VMware vSphere
- Understanding of enterprise network infrastructure (routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN)
- Hands-on experience with Splunk for data ingestion, searches, dashboards, and alerts
- Experience working with network telemetry sources such as SNMP, syslog, telemetry streams, APIs, and device metrics
- Ability to translate raw telemetry into actionable insights for Operations teams
- Strong analytical skills and attention to data quality
- Good communication skills to work effectively with Engineering and Operations teams
Pay rate: $37.06 - $45.06 per hour
