GRC Compliance Analyst (Automation & Data Governance)
Type: W-2 Contract
Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid Onsite)

Pay Rate: $66.94/hr
We are seeking an experienced GRC Compliance Analyst to support large-scale governance, compliance, and automation initiatives within a complex data ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of data governance, compliance engineering, workflow automation, and AI-driven operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience building scalable compliance processes, automating manual workflows, and partnering across distributed technical teams to improve governance visibility and accountability.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) workflows and automation pipelines
Build and maintain compliance tracking dashboards and governance reporting tools
Automate curator notifications, approvals, and escalation workflows using Slack and workflow tools
Support metadata management, data lineage, cataloging, and governance controls
Validate and monitor data quality using SQL across distributed and columnar data environments
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and governance stakeholders
Improve scalability and efficiency of compliance and policy-driven processes through automation
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in GRC, compliance analysis, data governance, or related fields
Experience with Python and/or JavaScript
Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale data systems
REST API integration experience
Understanding of data governance concepts including metadata, lineage, controls, and policy enforcement
Experience with workflow automation tools such as Slack Workflow Builder, Zapier, or similar platforms
Experience building dashboards for governance or compliance tracking
Knowledge of GDPR, DMA, or related compliance frameworks
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with AI/ML workflows related to data classification or tagging
Familiarity with data catalog and governance platforms
Experience with Slack APIs, bots, and workflow automation
Knowledge of distributed storage systems such as HDFS or object storage
Experience supporting enterprise-scale governance initiatives across multiple teams
