Job Title: Practice Assistant II - Neurology

Job Location: Boston, MA

Job Type: Contract

Job Overview:

Pay Range: $17.71hr - $24.94hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of office experience required.
  • Proficiency with all Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of office operations and standards.
  • Understanding of office procedures including filing, copying, scanning, printing and faxing.
  • Ability to use phone system and manage non-routine phone calls.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Well organized with good time management skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to follow established protocols and work within systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine administrative and clerical duties relating to a clinical service or physician practice office.
  • Make patient appointments and maintain appointment records.
  • Greet and assist patients.
  • Answer telephones, assist callers with routine inquiries, and schedule appointments.
  • File materials in patient folders and print appointment schedules.
  • Process patient billing forms and scan documents to patient medical records.
  • Call for patient medical records and laboratory test results.
  • Open and distribute unit mail or faxes.
  • Type forms, records, schedules, and memos as directed.
  • Accept co-payments as required.
  • Handle, screen, and take messages related to prior authorizations, provider questions, prescription refills, and test results.
  • Act as a lead user for scheduling, registration, and billing systems.
  • Provide assistance and training to others in administrative areas.
  • Perform complex or specialized functions such as surgical scheduling and schedule changes/blocking.
