About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes, production layouts, and equipment configurations to ensure efficient, high-quality, and compliant production. This role partners closely with design engineering, quality, and operations teams to translate product designs into scalable and reliable manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
Design and develop manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, machining, processing, and material handling.
Design optimal arrangements of machinery and equipment within plant facilities to maximize efficiency, productivity, and safety.
Define manufacturing sequences of operations and specify procedures for tool fabrication, equipment usage, and production workflows.
Adapt machine and equipment designs to align with factory constraints, production requirements, and operational conditions.
Incorporate inspection and testing requirements into manufacturing and production plans to ensure product quality and reliability.
Evaluate the performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify efficiency and effectiveness; identify issues and initiate corrective actions to resolve performance gaps.
Develop and implement manufacturing processes compatible with statistical process control (SPC) and continuous improvement methodologies.
Provide technical guidance to engineering teams regarding design concepts and specifications to optimize manufacturability and effective use of equipment and manufacturing technologies.
Ensure all manufacturing processes and procedures comply with applicable regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, yield improvement, quality enhancement, and cycle-time optimization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Experience designing and implementing manufacturing processes in a production environment.
Knowledge of production layout design, tooling, equipment integration, and material handling systems.
Experience with process optimization, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
Familiarity with quality systems, inspection methods, and statistical process control.
Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
