One of our direct clients (Nuclear Industry) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professionals to join our team in the role of Engineer who will provide (Design Engineering Support - Electrical, I&C and Engineering Project Management Support within the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station Design division.
Key Accountabilities:
Developing, modifying, and overseeing design packages for nuclear and conventional power plant systems.
Develop and review electrical, instrumentation, and control system design packages, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts.
Key duties include preparing technical specifications for equipment (transformers, breakers, MCCs), designing control systems (DCS, PLC), ensuring compliance with CNSC/CSA codes, and providing field support for project implementation.
Collaborating with internal departments (such as Performance Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Work Control) to ensure successful project delivery.
Provide oversight of design vendors, perform engineering analyses (e.g., arc flash, short circuit, load flow studies), and support construction, commissioning, and project close-out phases.
Applying Engineering Change Control (ECC) processes to prepare design packages with quality.
Qualifications:
4 year-engineering degree (advanced degrees may be an asset for some positions).
Minimum 2 years related engineering experience is required (some positions require a minimum of 4 years engineering experience
Electrical – I&C Design: strong electrical and I&C engineering fundamentals and principles; ability to solve emergent and complex problems in support of the Darlington NGS.
Minor Projects: Strong Project Management fundamentals; Experience working with external Engineering and EPC vendors for execution planning and installation; Experience leading engineering projects from initiation to closeout; Working with Project Controls to develop budgets, forecasts, and manage overall project costs; Experience managing construction projects is highly desired.
