One of our direct clients (Nuclear Industry) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professionals to join our team in the role of Engineer who will provide (Design Engineering Support - Civil and Engineering Project Management Support within the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station Design division.
Key Accountabilities:
Collaboration with OPG’s internal teams (such as Performance Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Work Control), external organizations, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
Providing oversight of design service providers, preparation of technical specifications, design requirements, modification packages, and design calculations, as well as review of design reports as part of day-to-day duties.
Leading engineering projects from initiation to closeout (Minor Projects Design), ensuring all objectives and commitments are met within established timelines; Administering and managing day-to-day project activities and promptly resolving field issues and challenges; Working closely with Project Controls to develop budgets, forecasts, and manage overall project costs.
Collaborating with internal departments (such as Performance Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Work Control) to ensure successful project delivery.
Applying Engineering Change Control (ECC) processes to prepare design packages with quality.
Qualifications:
4 year-engineering degree (advanced degrees may be an asset for some positions).
Minimum 2 years related engineering experience is required (some positions require a minimum of 4 years engineering experience
Minor Projects: Strong Project Management fundamentals; Experience working with external Engineering and EPC vendors for execution planning and installation; Experience leading engineering projects from initiation to closeout; Working with Project Controls to develop budgets, forecasts, and manage overall project costs; Experience managing construction projects is highly desired.
Civil Design: Knowledge of civil related codes and standards such as NBC, OBC, CSA codes associated with steel and concrete structures, OHSA, corporate safety requirements, contractor safety and work protection code.
