Job Description:

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior API Engineer with strong hands-on experience designing, developing, securing, and deploying enterprise APIs and integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. The ideal candidate will have expertise in API-led connectivity, Salesforce and database integrations, API security, governance, CI/CD automation, and production operations. Experience with Microsoft Azure and AI-assisted development is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, secure, deploy, and support enterprise APIs and integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
  • Develop reusable APIs following API-led connectivity, REST API conventions, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Design and implement Salesforce integrations using MuleSoft connectors and APIs.
  • Build secure and performant integrations with relational databases, enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and external services.
  • Create and maintain OpenAPI/Swagger and RAML specifications.
  • Use Anypoint API Manager, Exchange, Runtime Manager, Design Center, and Mule runtime to manage the API lifecycle.
  • Implement API security, policies, throttling, rate limiting, error handling, and resiliency patterns.
  • Build automated CI/CD pipelines and implement automated testing using MUnit.
  • Ensure integrations meet enterprise security, performance, availability, networking, and governance standards.
  • Establish monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and production support practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and Mule application development.
  • Strong experience with API-led connectivity, including System, Process, and Experience API patterns.
  • Experience with Anypoint API Manager, Exchange, Runtime Manager, Design Center, Mule runtime, and DataWeave.
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, RAML, and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
  • Strong hands-on experience integrating Salesforce with MuleSoft, including Salesforce connectors, APIs, authentication, data synchronization, and integration patterns.
  • Strong experience integrating MuleSoft with relational databases using database connectors, SQL, stored procedures, transactions, and appropriate connection-management patterns.
  • Experience designing real-time, near-real-time, and batch integrations across Salesforce, databases, and other enterprise systems.
  • Experience implementing secure APIs using OAuth 2.0, JWT, client credentials, and API gateway security policies.
  • Experience with MuleSoft connectors, transformations, exception handling, performance optimization, and reusable integration patterns.
  • Experience building automated CI/CD pipelines, MUnit tests, and deployment automation for MuleSoft applications.
  • Good understanding of API security, performance, networking, monitoring, governance, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong understanding of Git, DevOps, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Ability to independently deliver secure, scalable, resilient, and production-ready APIs and integrations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience developing and hosting APIs and services on Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Functions, App Services, Logic Apps, Service Bus, and Event Grid.
  • Understanding of Azure security, identity, and networking, including Microsoft Entra ID, Key Vault, managed identities, VNets, and private endpoints.
  • Experience integrating MuleSoft with Azure-hosted applications, APIs, and services.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or similar technologies.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, for code generation, testing, documentation, and development automation.
  • Relevant MuleSoft, Salesforce, and/or Microsoft Azure certifications are a plus.
