Position: Senior QA Automation Engineer (TSYS & Visa Payments)
Location: Vancouver / Toronto / Remote in Canada
Pay Rate: CAD $50/hr
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer with a strong background in TSYS payment processing and Visa payment systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in test automation for payment applications, transaction processing, and integration testing within the banking and payments domain.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts for payment applications.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, API, and end-to-end testing for TSYS and Visa payment platforms.
- Validate payment transaction flows, authorization, settlement, clearing, reconciliation, and exception handling.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Develop and execute automated test cases using industry-standard automation tools.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
- Execute database validation and backend testing using SQL.
- Analyse defects, perform root cause analysis, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Prepare test plans, test strategies, execution reports, and quality metrics.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in QA Automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with TSYS payment processing platform.
- Experience testing Visa payment systems, including authorization, clearing, settlement, and card transaction processing.
- Solid understanding of the payment card ecosystem, including ISO 8583 message formats and transaction life cycle.
- Experience with API testing, web services, and microservices.
- Strong knowledge of automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
- Good understanding of SQL and database testing.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or TestRail.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with acquiring, issuing, card management, or merchant payment systems.
- Experience in cloud-based testing environments is an advantage.
- Exposure to performance and load testing tools is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Client-facing experience and strong stakeholder communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Work Requirements:
- Ability to work remotely with distributed global teams.
- Willingness to participate in production support, release validation, and critical testing activities when required
