Job Description

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to support a high-impact healthcare technology initiative for Centene. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks for enterprise applications, APIs, and backend systems.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in QA Automation / Software Test Automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Strong programming experience in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch or enhancing existing frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with API automation testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP methods, and web services.
• Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber is preferred.
• Experience integrating automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Git/version control.
• Strong SQL knowledge for automated database/backend validation.
• Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, or similar defect-management tools.
• Strong understanding of automation testing methodologies and best practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts and test suites.
• Build and enhance scalable and reusable automation frameworks.
• Automate functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end-to-end test scenarios.
• Develop automated tests for web applications, APIs, and backend systems.
• Create and maintain API automation scripts for RESTful services.
• Perform automated database validation using SQL queries.
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
• Analyze automation failures and troubleshoot application and framework issues.
• Identify, document, and track defects using Jira or similar tools.
• Maintain automation scripts as application functionality evolves.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other QA engineers.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Generate automation execution reports and communicate test results to stakeholders.
• Continuously improve test coverage, automation reliability, and execution efficiency.
