The Work
The Launchers Integrated Engineering team is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support Launchers and Weapons programs within Lockheed Martin's portfolio. The candidate should have technical problem-solving skills, the ability to see the big picture, the ability to conceptualize, develop, and implement solutions, and the ability to partner well with internal and external organizations.

The candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with design engineers, test engineers and field technicians as well as representatives from Manufacturing, Quality, Design, and other engineering disciplines. Tasks for Systems Engineers on these projects include:

Developing systems and system element architecture, design, and interface definitions
Deriving lower level requirements and managing requirements and verification details in DOORS
Authoring test plans procedures and standard
operating procedures
Developing Requirement Verification Traceability
Matrix (RVTM)
Working with system, test and design engineers to
correct errors in designs based on test failures

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, plus 5 years' relevant experience
Experience with DOORS requirements management system
Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to comprehend and work successfully with complex computer programs
Ability to obtain & maintain a security clearance at the Secret level

Desired skills

Masters degree in an engineering or scientific discipline
Ability to work with minimal day to day supervision
Must be well organized, take direction well, and be a self-starter willing to seek assignments and guidance
Proven ability of working in a group development environment
Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Rhapsody or CAMEO

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

The base range for this position in New Jersey is $91,000 - $172,488.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. The wage range and benefits summary is a general guideline and is governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.
