Summary

Position- Sr Network Consultant

Location : Candidate can work remote but must be ready to work in EST shift, and high possibility to be called to Holmdel, NewJersey , once or twice in 6 months

CORE SKILLS & TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

  1. Networking Protocols & Core Technologies
  • Strong hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, BGP PIC, BGP LU, VLAN, VRRP, HSRP, EIGRP, RIP, and STP.
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, OSI layers, and end-to-end network troubleshooting across control and data planes.
  • Skilled in LAN/WAN technologies and VPNs (IPSec, GRE, DMVPN) with strong knowledge of QoS, Multicast, NAT, and Load Balancing.
  • Expertise in redundancy and high availability using HSRP, VRRP, and MPLS FRR for seamless traffic recovery.

  1. Cisco Service Provider Platforms
  • Extensive experience with Cisco IOS XR, ASR9K, NCS5K, NCS5500, and White Box SP platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of IOS XR architecture, Platform Independent (PI) and Platform Dependent (PD) layers, and modular process behavior.
  • Hands-on experience with IOS XR SMUs, software release processes, and patch validation.
  • Skilled in routing optimization, packet forwarding analysis, and MPLS/BGP/ISIS troubleshooting in production and lab environments.

  1. Troubleshooting & Escalation Management
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues from control plane to data plane, correlating routing and platform logs for RCA.
  • Triaged and resolved escalations from AT&T and global service provider teams, collaborating closely with Cisco BU engineering for software fixes.
  • Owned customer escalations end-to-end conducting deep analysis, root cause documentation, and post-mortem reviews.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex issues to both engineering teams and customers.

  1. Test & Validation Expertise
  • Proficient with IXIA and SPIRENT traffic generators for validating L2/L3, QoS, ACL, and multicast traffic scenarios.
  • Conducted performance benchmarking and regression testing for routing and service validation.

  1. AI-Integrated Operations & Automation
  • Integrated AI/ML-based monitoring and predictive analytics into NOC operations to detect anomalies and reduce MTTR.
  • Automated recurring tasks using Python, Ansible, and REST APIs for configuration audits and telemetry-based troubleshooting.
  • Developed AI-driven dashboards (Grafana, ELK) for real-time visibility into network health, traffic patterns, and BGP/OSPF states.

  1. Collaboration & Leadership
  • Excellent communicator skilled in handling critical customer escalations and bridging gaps between operations and engineering.
  • Experienced in mentoring L2/L3 engineers and leading incident resolution for high-impact service provider networks.
  • Recognized for professionalism, quick response, and customer-first problem ownership.
