Position Summary

Defined Software Development is seeking an experienced Internet / Web Architect for a contract consulting opportunity in the Tallahassee area.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise web applications, with a significant background in Oracle databases, Microsoft ASP.NET, C#, MVC, and SQL Server technologies.

This role will support large enterprise projects and requires the ability to work across application development, database technologies, requirements gathering, testing, technical documentation, and collaboration with development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise web applications.
• Develop and maintain Microsoft ASP.NET applications using C#, MVC, and related technologies.
• Convert ASP.NET Web Forms applications to MVC.
• Develop and optimize Oracle database functions, stored procedures, triggers, packages, and related database components.
• Perform Oracle database performance tuning.
• Develop and maintain Microsoft SQL Server stored procedures and data-processing solutions.
• Support batch processing and data loading activities.
• Work with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS 2017 or later).
• Support SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Work with JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks, Bootstrap, web services, and object-oriented programming concepts.
• Support .NET Core application development and Azure-based application development.
• Gather and document business and technical requirements.
• Participate in application, report, dashboard, and large-data-set testing.
• Produce technical documentation, including requirements, specifications, traceability matrices, designs, and testing documentation.
• Collaborate with development teams supporting large enterprise projects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience with Oracle databases, including functions, stored procedures, triggers, packages, and performance tuning.
• Minimum 8 years of experience developing Microsoft ASP.NET web applications.
• Demonstrated experience converting ASP.NET Web Forms applications to MVC.
• Strong experience with:

• Experience testing custom applications, reports, large data sets, or dashboards.
• Experience producing technical documentation related to requirements, specifications, traceability, design, and testing.
• Experience working with development teams on large enterprise projects.

Preferred / Additional Experience

• Familiarity with .NET Core application development.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services and application development on Azure.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint.
