Informatica Engineer – Level II

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Informatica Engineer – Level II to provide enterprise-wide administration, production support, monitoring, deployment, configuration, testing, and performance tuning for Informatica technologies and environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter, PowerExchange, Change Data Capture (CDC), ETL, UNIX/Linux, shell scripting, and relational databases.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and provide production support for Informatica environments.

• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance activities.

• Monitor Informatica platforms and troubleshoot production issues and escalated tickets.

• Perform Informatica PowerCenter administration, including:

  • User/account creation

  • Repository backups

  • Mapping and workflow migrations

  • Environment and repository management

  • Patching and version upgrades

  • Performance diagnosis and optimization

• Coordinate Informatica deployments and environment testing.

• Monitor and report on Informatica usage, performance, and capacity metrics.

• Support internal and external projects involving Informatica technologies.

• Work with engineering teams to ensure project designs are production-ready.

• Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and other technical teams.

• Provide technical guidance to less-experienced engineers.

• Document procedures, troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and system changes.

• Identify and implement small-scale process improvements.

• Lead smaller internal projects as assigned.

• Support business requirements involving internal and external Informatica interfaces.

• Maintain accurate technical and operational documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or four additional years of related work experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

• 3+ years of related IT experience, including at least 2 years of Informatica administration experience.

• Hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter.

• Working knowledge of Informatica PowerExchange and Change Data Capture (CDC).

• Basic knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, Sybase, and/or MS SQL Server.

• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems and shell scripting.

• Basic ETL development experience.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Good understanding of data warehousing concepts.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Informatica coursework or certifications.

• Experience with Informatica platform monitoring and performance tuning.

• Experience supporting enterprise production environments.

• Strong interest in continued technical learning and professional development.

Work Environment

• Primarily enterprise IT/infrastructure environment.

• Collaboration with engineering, business, vendor, and support teams.

• Minimal travel may be required.
