Role Type: Contract

Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Key Responsibilities

Full-Stack Development: Design and develop clean, efficient code using Java and React to meet complex business needs.
Modernization: Assist in the migration of legacy systems (Perl) to modern cloud-native architectures.
Testing & QA: Conduct comprehensive unit, integration, and system testing; participate in peer code reviews to maintain high quality standards.
API & Documentation: Build and document robust APIs and system structures for long-term maintainability.
Deployment: Package and deploy modules to AWS environments and provide post-release monitoring and support.

Technical Requirements

Mandatory Experience:

Java/Spring Boot: Minimum 2 years of experience in Java web application development.
Frontend: Minimum 2 years of experience with React or similar modern JavaScript frameworks.
Cloud Platforms: Minimum 2 years of experience with application modernization on AWS or Azure.
AI Integration: 2 years of experience utilizing AI tools to facilitate and accelerate development and testing.
Methodology: 2 years of experience working within Agile development teams.
Database: Proficiency with MySQL and MariaDB.

Preferred Skills (Highly Desired):

Prior experience with Perl programming.
Subject matter expertise in Construction Management or School Facilities programs.
Experience with AWS Government Cloud and Terraform for infrastructure as code.
