Role Overview
This role involves performing engineering assignments ranging from limited scope to advanced projects requiring expertise in multiple disciplines. The position offers increasing independence based on experience and includes responsibilities in project management, negotiations, and performance tracking. The focus will be on utility-scale solar, BESS, and power plant operations, ensuring designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and long-term performance goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level oversight of engineering and project execution.
- Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Negotiate technical and regulatory requirements and influence executive-level project decisions.
- Act as a technical authority on engineering standards, practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Guide engineering strategies and solve complex challenges in collaboration with leadership.
- Optimize technical designs for energy infrastructure and manage technical risk.
- Ensure project success from conception through execution with a focus on system integration and risk management.
- Oversee the design and management of civil infrastructure, including foundations and drainage systems.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
Experience: 15+ years of experience in planning, designing, and executing large-scale energy projects, including solar, BESS, wind, and hydrogen systems.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with engineering tools and standards related to one or more of the following areas:
- Electrical/I&C: Electric distribution systems, power systems, ladder logic, ETAP, EDISON.
- Mechanical: Pumps, valves, heat exchangers, pipe stress analysis, ASME standards.
- Civil/Structural: Seismic qualification, pipe supports, GT Strudel, welding, rigging.
- MOV Valve: Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and valve program management.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Professional Engineering (PE) certification is strongly preferred.
- Advanced experience in system integration and risk management.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $65.00 and $70.00 per hour. This is a contract role.
Driving is a requirement for this position. A valid, non-restricted driver's license is necessary, and a driving record validation will be conducted.
