Role Overview
An opportunity is available for a Project Engineer to support data center power projects. This role involves managing technical aspects of projects from due diligence through completion. The position requires resolving complex technical issues and coordinating internal and external engineering support for successful project delivery. The successful candidate will work with multidisciplinary teams to support standardized and timely project delivery in a dynamic business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and manage engineering projects, balancing cost, reliability, and performance.
- Support internal stakeholders, manage external engineering resources and deliverables, and coordinate internal engineering support.
- Provide technical leadership throughout project execution, making decisions and recommendations with a significant impact on major engineering activities.
- Oversee design development, permitting, and compliance for energy infrastructure.
- Support detailed technical assessments, engineering design reviews, and compliance verifications for power delivery projects.
- Ensure designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and long-term performance and reliability goals.
- Engage in decision-making, technical analysis, and project coordination with a focus on utility-scale solar, BESS, and power plant operations.
- Bridge the gap between conceptual engineering and field execution, ensuring best practices are applied.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
Experience: 11 to 15 years of relevant experience leading engineering teams and providing oversight for major energy infrastructure projects.
Technical Skills: Experience with project management, negotiation, and stakeholder management is required. Familiarity with engineering tools such as ETAP, EDISON, or GT Strudel is relevant depending on specialization.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Professional Engineering (PE) certification is preferred.
- Engineering and project management experience supporting infrastructure, power, or mission-critical projects is preferred.
- A data center or power delivery background is preferred.
- Experience managing internal and external engineering resources on projects.
