Role Overview
This position is for an experienced engineering lead responsible for performing and overseeing assignments ranging from limited scope to advanced, multi-disciplinary engineering projects. The role involves increasing independence, project management, technical leadership, and ensuring that engineering designs for large-scale energy projects meet project specifications, safety standards, and long-term performance goals. The successful candidate will act as a technical authority and work closely with leadership to guide engineering strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level oversight of engineering projects and their execution.
- Plan, organize, and manage engineering projects, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams and act as the technical authority on standards and practices.
- Engage in decision-making, technical analysis, project coordination, and engineering oversight.
- Negotiate technical and regulatory requirements and influence executive-level project decisions.
- Optimize technical designs for energy infrastructure, including utility-scale solar, BESS, wind, and hydrogen systems.
- Provide expertise in system design, grid optimization, and technical risk management.
- Ensure project success from conception through execution through system integration and risk management.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required for this position.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering is required.
Experience: A minimum of 15 years of experience in planning, designing, and executing large-scale energy projects is required. This includes experience with solar, BESS, wind, and hydrogen systems.
Specialized Engineering Functions:- Electrical/I&C Engineering: Experience with electric distribution systems, power systems, ladder logic, and computational tools (ETAP, EDISON).
- Mechanical Engineering: Knowledge of pumps, valves, heat exchangers, pipe stress analysis, and ASME standards.
- Civil/Structural Engineering: Experience in designing and managing civil infrastructure components, including foundations, site grading, drainage systems, seismic qualification, and pipe supports.
- MOV Valve Engineering: Proficiency in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and valve program management.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Professional Engineering (PE) certification is strongly preferred.
