Position Description

Invites applications for an Android Mobile Developer. The selected contractor will provide assessment and programming support to analytic staff in modeling, designing, developing, coding, maintaining, and testing modern, data-intensive mobile applications.

Responsibilities

• Acquire knowledge of programming procedures and standards.
• Design, code, and test application software.
• Modify existing software to reflect changes in functional requirements.
• Code efficiently while adhering to established programming standards.
• Prepare and maintain quality documentation to manage program development and revisions.
• Prepare instructions and user documentation for users/operators.
• Modify programs to increase operating efficiency.
• Prepare test data and validate software for accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

Education

 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area.

Technical Requirements

• Software development with a focus on Object Oriented Analysis and Design.
• Java and Kotlin for Android development.
• Android SDK
• REST, Graph-QL, JSON.
• Unit testing and bug fixing.
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Knowledge of architecture patterns such as MVC and MVP.
• Development using Android Studio.
• Ability to work accurately with legacy code.
• Testing tools such as Espresso and Postman.
• Ability to organize and delegate work to the team.

• iOS – Beginner
• Android Studio Development Tool – Intermediate
• XML Views UI Framework – Intermediate
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area from an accredited institution and one year of experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying production-grade applications.
• Familiarity with Android frameworks.
• Familiarity with package managers such as Cocoa Pods, Carthage, and Swift Package Manager.
• Good attention to detail.
• Desire to build quality products for users.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
