About the Job- We are looking for an experienced API Platform Engineer to join one of our enterprise client engagements. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in API, GitLab, Python, Node.js along with experience working in fast-paced enterprise environments.

Job Description:

• Serve as a technical authority on all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of the API platform and tooling
• Support the API platform support and upgrades
• Develop applications, frameworks, and tools for API Core Engineering division to improve developer productivity and SDLC process
• Develop software applications using Node.js technologies and related programming languages (JavaScript or TypeScript)
• Develop comprehensive unit tests using Node.js testing frameworks
• Develop CI/CD pipeline tools and frameworks using GitLab, Python, and Shell Scripts
• Interact with other development teams within Enterprise to support the adoption of the API gateway and frameworks we build, help resolve issues surrounding adoption and usage, and support questions or clarifications or issues from the consumer teams.

Mandatory Skills:

• 3-5+ years of software development experience using Node.js, JavaScript or TypeScript as programming language
• Experience of Python programming language and scripting languages
• Experience developing comprehensive unit tests using Jest or Mocha or Chai or an equivalent testing framework
• Hands-on experience building and operating services on public cloud (AWS strongly preferred).
• Experience designing and developing APIs or microservices (REST), including versioning, authentication/authorization, and documentation.
• Proven experience with DevOps toolchains: GitLab (CI/CD), Terraform (IaC), and Git-based workflows.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, reliability, performance, and observability (logging, metrics, tracing).
• Strategic thinker with hands-on problem-solving skills.
• Experience using source version control (SVC) such as Git 

Desired SkillsPreferred/Nice to have:

• Experience developing API with API Gateway support experience
• Experience in working with Platform teams.
• Experience in cloud is highly valued; AWS certifications are a big plus
