Apex Systems is hiring a Lead IT Project Manager for a large Healthcare client.

Location: Fully remote anywhere in the United States

**EST hours preferred; CST acceptable**

6-month contract with possibility to extend or convert.

Role Overview

The Lead IT Project Manager is responsible for driving the delivery of an enterprise AI Intelligence Layer supporting Data Protection and Security GRC use cases. This role operates at the intersection of strategy, execution, and analytics-translating data protection and AI strategy into clear priorities, actionable plans, and measurable outcomes. The role requires strong program leadership, analytical depth, and hands-on engagement in requirements definition and solution shaping, ensuring that efforts are aligned to strategy, delivered on time, and meet governance, risk, and compliance expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across business, security, engineering, GRC, and vendor teams to enable execution.
  • Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of AI Intelligence Layer initiatives supporting DSPM and data protection objectives.
  • Translate strategic data protection and AI objectives into clear roadmaps, priorities, and delivery plans.
  • Partner with vendors throughout the lifecycle to manage deliverables, timelines, dependencies, and outcomes.
  • Produce and maintain key program artifacts, including roadmaps, requirements, dependencies, risks, and status reporting.
  • Support requirements gathering and refinement, including defining business needs, mapping use cases, and validating outcomes.
  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise governance, risk, and compliance standards, including AI trust, auditability, and control requirements.
  • Provide ongoing program oversight, identifying risks, gaps, and dependencies, and driving issue resolution.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in Project/Program Management supporting enterprise technology, security, or GRC initiatives. Required exposure to AI, machine learning, or LLM-enabled solutions in an enterprise environment. Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and technology teams is also required.

Technical Skills: Project management skills with ability to drive execution, alignment, and delivery. Business analyst mindset with the ability to gather, structure, and translate requirements into actionable plans. Experience with Microsoft Office, Root Cause Analysis, Sourcing, Stakeholder Management, and Vendor Relationship Management is desired. Knowledge of Agile Software Development, Scrum, and the Software Development Life Cycle is also sought.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Experience supporting data protection or security platforms (DSPM, asset management, exposure management, etc.).
  • Certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISM, or CISSP
