Overview
The platform Engineering team is responsible for designing and optimizing AI Agents that can reason, plan, and take action autonomously. we build robust orchestration layers that coordinate complex multi-model and multi-service workflows with reliability and scale. And we will push the boundaries of inference performance, driving low-latency, high-quality model execution across production workloads. Join us in building the foundation for the next generation of AI. As a Member of Technical Staff, Compute Abuse Prevention, you'll design and deliver the systems that ensure GPU and other AI compute resources are used efficiently, securely, and fairly. These building blocks form the backbone of scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient workflows that product teams rely on to train and deploy models without wasted compute or malicious interference. From abuse detection to resource optimization, you'll deliver fast, secure, and dependable execution that ensures AI workloads run smoothly and efficiently.
Your work will make it possible for AI workloads and agents to run securely, efficiently, and without interruption - ensuring the platform doesn't just function, but delivers compute where it's needed most. Ideal candidates have backend or ML systems expertise and thrive at the intersection of product, infrastructure, and inference. You take ownership, tackle hard problems, and build the connective systems that make AI platforms fast, reliable, and scalable - collaborating with teams to deliver high-impact solutions that prevent wasted compute and protect the integrity of real-world AI workloads.
Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
Starting January 26, 2026, MAI employees are expected to work from a designated Microsoft office at least four days a week if they live within 50 miles (U.S.) or 25 miles (non-U.S., country-specific) of that location. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.
