Description: About the RoleWe are seeking a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer to support offsite fabrication and tooling operations. This role works closely with suppliers, engineering teams, procurement, quality, and program management to ensure tooling and manufacturing requirements are met. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing environments, supplier management, and technical engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities- Manage supplier manufacturing activities related to tooling fabrication projects.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, quality, supplier management, and program teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Define supplier statements of work and ensure compliance with engineering, quality, and contractual requirements.
- Support maintenance and evaluation of approved supplier lists based on supplier performance.
- Review supplier performance metrics and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Manage supplier waiver requests, deviations, and discrepancy reporting processes.
- Investigate supplier non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate source inspections and collaborate with stakeholders throughout the manufacturing process.
- Review manufacturing documentation, certifications, and end-item data packages before shipment.
- Utilize supplier quality management systems and performance databases to assess supplier capabilities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and manufacturing process optimization.
Must-Have Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with technical documentation and technical writing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience using 3D CAD software.
- Understanding of supplier manufacturing processes and quality requirements.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications- Master's or advanced degree in an engineering discipline.
- Experience with composite materials and composite manufacturing applications.
- Supplier audit or supplier assessment experience.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) training or experience.
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge, training, or certification.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- CNC machining experience.
