Overview We are seeking a
Tool Design Engineer II with strong
CATIA expertise to support the design and development of tooling, fixtures, gauges, and production equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in 3D modeling, detailed drawings, GD&T application, and manufacturing design processes.
Key Responsibilities - Design industrial tooling, jigs, fixtures, gauges, dies, and machine attachments for production and prototype applications.
- Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CATIA.
- Develop tolerance stack-up analyses, exploded views, and manufacturing documentation.
- Apply GD&T and industry drafting standards (ANSI, ISO) to engineering drawings.
- Design components for various manufacturing processes including castings, forgings, stampings, machined parts, powdered metal components, and molded plastics.
- Support the design of testing and prototype fixtures as needed.
- Participate in customer and supplier meetings to define requirements and ensure design feasibility.
- Coordinate technical discussions and design clarification meetings with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards, project requirements, and established timelines.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of CATIA design experience with strong proficiency in 3D modeling and detailing.
- Experience creating detailed manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and drafting practices.
- Familiarity with industry standards including ANSI and ISO.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple design tasks and meet project deadlines.
