Job Summary

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support and optimize electronics manufacturing operations, with a focus on Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), module assembly, and cable assembly processes. This role will drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhance manufacturing efficiency, improve product quality, and support production readiness through process development, documentation, and technical problem solving.

The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in manufacturing engineering, process optimization, lean manufacturing, and electronics assembly environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and optimize CCA, module, and cable assembly manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Develop, maintain, and update manufacturing documentation including:
    • Work Instructions (WI)
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Process Flows
    • Manufacturing Routings
    • Fixture and Stencil Design Requirements
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to ensure successful implementation of process improvements.
  • Conduct process studies, experiments, validations, and trials to support manufacturing enhancements.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to production personnel.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to quality, yield, throughput, scrap reduction, and operational efficiency.
  • Support equipment maintenance, process qualification, and manufacturing readiness activities.
  • Train and mentor manufacturing personnel on new processes, procedures, and best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing experience may be considered.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, production engineering, or process engineering environments.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electronic assembly manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with process development, process improvement, and production support.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, process controls, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Experience using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, or similar methodologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Electronics manufacturing, PCB/CCA assembly, or cable assembly experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience supporting defense, aerospace, electronics, medical device, or high-reliability manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and manufacturing data analytics.
  • Familiarity with:
    • IPC-A-610
    • J-STD-001
    • IPC/WHMA-A-620
    • MIL-STD-130
  • Experience with automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, automation systems, or Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Experience using CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with fixture design, tooling development, and stencil design.
  • Experience supporting torpedo, naval, military, or other complex electromechanical assembly programs is a plus.
