Position Overview

We are seeking a visionary and hands-on OCI Lead to architect, migrate, and manage our enterprise cloud environment. In this role, you will be the bridge between technical execution and strategic cloud governance. Operating in a hybrid capacity out of our Houston, TX office, you will lead the design of secure, scalable, and highly available Oracle Cloud solutions while guiding a talented team of engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture & Leadership: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-grade OCI environments, serving as the primary subject matter expert (SME).

• Cloud Migration: Spearhead the migration of on-premises workloads, Oracle databases, and applications (e.g., EBS, Peoplesoft, or custom apps) to OCI.

• Automation & IaC: Drive infrastructure-as-code (IaC) initiatives using Terraform and Ansible to automate deployment and configuration management.

• Security & Compliance: Implement robust identity and access management (IAM), network security groups, and encryption protocols to ensure strict data governance.

• Performance Tuning: Optimize cloud spend, resource allocation, and system performance through proactive monitoring and capacity planning.

• Collaboration: Partner closely with cross-functional teams (DBAs, Developers, and Security) and mentor junior engineers on OCI best practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 8+ years of IT infrastructure experience, with at least 3–5 years of dedicated experience leading OCI environments.

• Core OCI Expertise: Deep knowledge of OCI foundational services: Compute, Storage (Block/Object), Networking (VCN, FastConnect, Load Balancers), and IAM.

• Database Familiarity: Strong understanding of Oracle Database deployments in the cloud, including Exadata Cloud Service (ExaCS), Autonomous Database, or RAC.

• DevOps Tooling: Proficiency with Terraform for OCI provisioning and CI/CD pipelines.

• Location & Availability: Must be local to or willing to relocate to Houston, TX, and comfortable working in a hybrid environment (split between remote and in-office days).

Preferred Qualifications

• Active OCI Architect Professional or OCI Operations Associate certifications.

• Experience migrating legacy ERP systems to Oracle Cloud.
