Summary

JOB SUMMARY

ITT Flow Technology is looking for a college co-op student to join our Mixing Industry Continuous Improvement Team. The student will be responsible for helping with improvements to the manufacturing processes as they relate to digital processes and tools. Tools that will be used will include SAP, BW4Hana, Power Query, Power Apps, Power BI, and other MS products.

The Co-Op can expect to complete 1-2 major Projects and several smaller focus improvements.

Pay: $25.00HR

Co-op term: Spring 2027

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collect, clean, validate, and organize data from multiple business systems and sources.
  • Assist in analyzing large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable business insights.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or similar platforms.
  • Support ad hoc reporting requests and data analysis projects for various business functions.
  • Write and modify SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from databases.
  • Perform data quality checks and help identify and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and key performance metrics.
  • Document data sources, reporting logic, and analytical methodologies to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Assist in the automation of recurring reports and data processes to improve efficiency.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives by providing data-driven recommendations.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to team members and business partners as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with company data governance, security, and confidentiality standards.
  • Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends, patterns, and business insights.
  • Ability to collect, clean, validate, organize, and analyze data from multiple systems and sources.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or similar platforms.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL with the ability to write and modify queries for data extraction and analysis.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, charts, and data manipulation.
  • Ability to perform data quality checks, identify discrepancies, and support resolution of data issues.
  • Ability to translate business needs into reporting requirements, metrics, and meaningful analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Ability to develop clear dashboards, reports, and visualizations that effectively communicate findings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to document data sources, reporting logic, processes, and analytical methodologies.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
  • Interest in process improvement and automation with the ability to identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency.
  • Understanding of data confidentiality, governance, and security principles.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn new systems, tools, and analytical techniques.

Education
  • Working towards BS degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence concepts.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools such as Power BI is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • A positive attitude & hands-on mentality
