Job Details

The ServiceNow Developer's role involves designing, developing, and implementing custom applications and workflows on the ServiceNow platform to automate business processes. Key responsibilities include creating and configuring modules like ITSM, writing code (JavaScript, HTML, CSS), integrating with other systems, and troubleshooting technical problems. Developers work with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure platform stability across different environments.

Core responsibilities

  • Development and configuration:

Build and configure custom applications, forms, workflows, and scripts within the ServiceNow platform. This includes using features like Business Rules, Client Scripts, and Flow Designer.

  • Requirements and design:

Collaborate with business analysts and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Integration:

Develop and maintain integrations with other IT systems and third-party tools using technologies like SOAP and REST web services.

  • Maintenance and support:

Provide ongoing production support, troubleshoot issues, and manage platform upgrades and patches.

  • Testing and quality assurance:

Create test cases and perform quality checks to ensure the reliability and efficiency of new applications.

Required skills and qualifications

Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, along with experience in ServiceNow scripting (e.g., Script Includes, UI Actions).

Hands-on experience with various ServiceNow modules such as IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), or Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

Experience with Agile development methodologies like Scrum is required.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for gathering requirements and collaborating with team members.

A bachelor's degree in a related field like computer science or information technology is generally required.

ServiceNow Professional System Administrator certification or higher.

Certified Application Developer (CAD) credential

Experience:

10+ years experience as a ServiceNow Administrator with documented work experience.
