Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Engineer for a contract-to-hire position with a healthcare services client in Eagan, MN. This position is 100% remote. Pay range: $68.31 - $70.42 per hour, W2. This role involves designing, building, testing, and supporting data integrations for our client's partner platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data engineering on a major cloud platform like Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure, with a strong focus on data pipeline development and data governance.
Responsibilities: - Design, build, test, and support data integrations
- Develop and maintain data pipelines
- Ensure adherence to data governance principles
- Optimize and tune queries for performance and cost-effectiveness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data solutions
Requirements: - 8-10 years of experience in Data Engineering
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (or a similar cloud platform like AWS/Azure)
- Proven experience in Data Pipeline Development
- Strong understanding of Data Governance Principles
- Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform BigQuery for query optimization, partitioning, clustering, and data modeling
- Experience with Cloud Storage, including bucket management and lifecycle policies
- Skilled in Python for building data engineering pipelines
- Advanced SQL knowledge, including window functions and CTEs
- Experience with Bash/Shell for automation and scripting
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Cloud Logging and Cloud Monitoring
- Proficiency with Git for version control
- Deep understanding of Data Warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling and ETL/ELT patterns
- Experience with data quality validation, testing, and monitoring
Desired skills: - Experience with Dataflow (Apache Beam) for streaming/batch processing
- Knowledge of Pub/Sub for event-driven architecture
- Experience with Cloud Functions for serverless data processing
- Familiarity with real-time processing and streaming analytics
- PBM/Healthcare industry experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
