Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking an Associate Engineer for an Onsite position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in New Albany, OH. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. The ideal candidate is an experienced Automation Technician with strong hands-on PLC troubleshooting skills, ladder logic reading, HMI familiarity, and packaging equipment experience. This role involves collaborating with mechanical technicians and diagnosing electrical/automation issues in a GMP manufacturing environment. The position is for a PM shift (6:00 pm - 6:30 am) on a 2-2-3 schedule.
Responsibilities: - Provide technical engineering support on all system/equipment optimization strategies, upgrades, replacements, and modifications
- Support production by quickly troubleshooting and resolving issues on packaging equipment
- Evaluate if utility systems, process maintenance, and other systems are maintained in compliance with industry and FDA standards
- Coordinate technical support on engineering, regulatory, compliance, calibration, quality, and process automation issues
- Assist during regulatory agency inspections and provide technical support in response to the FDA
- Complete advanced maintenance activities and operate sophisticated plant support equipment in accordance with cGMPs, SOPs, and company policies
- Investigate complex issues or problems with the mentorship of experienced staff
- Assist with maintaining an up-to-date working spare parts inventory system
- Interpret and review utility, process system/equipment, and HVAC P&ID's
- Support Operations using Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree OR Associate's degree and 4 years of experience OR High school diploma / GED and 6 years of experience
- Allen-Bradley PLC proficiency
- Experience with electrical/automation troubleshooting of complex equipment
- Experience with Rockwell / Allen-Bradley controls; Siemens and B&R controls are a plus
- Familiarity with sub-systems on equipment such as Systech serialization, Cognex cameras, and SCADA
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work non-standard shifts that include weekends and/or holidays
Pay range: up to $33.07 per hour
