Systems Administrator II - Windows/Linux Infrastructure
Full Time, Contract to Hire
Tampa, FL
CDW is seeking a skilled Systems Administrator for a long term, full time (contract to hire) role. In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability, availability, security, and recovery of enterprise Windows and Linux systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across server administration, cloud platforms, identity management, security tools, and enterprise infrastructure support.
Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration supporting enterprise Windows and Linux environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server 2019+, Linux (Red Hat), and Active Directory administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, and AWS cloud services.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms and hypervisors.
  • Knowledge of SIEM, endpoint security, anti-malware, and MDM platforms.
  • Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and enterprise monitoring solutions.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, routing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with enterprise storage technologies such as SAN, NFS, and Fibre Channel.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, or similar tools.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate in team environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Mac OS in Windows enterprise environments.
  • Knowledge of systems integration, compliance frameworks, and security best practices.
  • Prior experience supporting public safety, law enforcement, or highly available mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and support Active Directory (AD), Group Policy Objects (GPO), and identity services.
  • Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms including Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD.
  • Maintain and support Microsoft 365 (M365), enterprise email, and email gateway solutions.
  • Provide operational support for Microsoft Azure cloud services and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Administer Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), anti-virus, anti-malware, and Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
  • Support and maintain virtual environments, enterprise servers, and infrastructure systems.
  • Perform system installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, backups, and disaster recovery tasks.
  • Monitor infrastructure health using enterprise monitoring tools and respond to alerts/incidents.
  • Conduct security audits, compliance scans, and remediation activities.
  • Maintain accurate hardware and software inventories and licensing records.
  • Provide root cause analysis for major incidents and recommend preventative solutions.
  • Build and deploy software packages, scripts, and automation solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and procedures.
  • Manage service tickets, escalations, and participate in a rotating on-call support schedule.
  • Evaluate new technologies, vendor products, and infrastructure solutions.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
