Location: New York, NY ( 3 days onsite and 2 days Remote)

Project Description:

The client IT Project Management Office (PMO) focuses on creating and maintaining a  suite of large-scale workflow software applications designed to enhance efficiency and  effectiveness of client business teams. These teams handle critical operations such as permitting, inspections, roadway repairs, bridge maintenance, and street sign management. Our applications require that the utility company, contractor, vendor or client employee collect some of the vital pieces of data required to properly track the lifecycle of the asset. For example, the location, state, usage, weight, height, width, dept, pitch, rating, length, who worked on the asset and when, materials, vehicles, equipment used, the cost, funding source, customer complaints, date, time, duration of work, start and end dates, permit and license fees and fines, inspection pass / fail data, state / city / federal funding, project approvals and many more vital data points.

 

Resposnibilities:

  • Analyze Business Needs — Evaluate current processes, workflows, and pain points to identify gaps, opportunities, and highvalue improvements that align with organizational goals while strengthen business partner relationships.
  • Document Business Requirements — Produce clear, structured business requirement documents (BRDs) that capture objectives, scope, constraints, and stakeholder expectations with precision.
  • Define Functional Requirements — Translate business needs into detailed functional requirement specifications (FRDs) that guide design, development, and testing teams.
  • Facilitate Stakeholder Interviews — Conduct interviews, workshops, and discovery sessions to gather insights, validate assumptions, and ensure requirements reflect real operational needs.
  • Perform Requirements Analysis — Break down complex information, identify dependencies, evaluate feasibility, reconcile conflicts between different sources of information and ensure requirements are complete, consistent, and meet the business’ needs.
  • Create Process Documentation — Develop process maps, user flows, and system diagrams to visualize current and future-state operations.
  • Manage Requirements Traceability — Maintain a traceability matrix to ensure all requirements are tracked from definition through testing and implementation.
  • Collaborate With Technical Teams — Partner with developers, architects, and QA teams to clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities, and support solution design. Understand application programming, databases, system design, technical specifications, and system architectures (Internet, Intranet, Extranet, client/server).
  • Support User Acceptance Testing — Assist in creating test cases, validating functionality against requirements, and documenting defects or gaps.
  • Prepare Clear Documentation— Produce highquality documentation including use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, and system specifications.
  • Practice Industry Standards— Independently engage with clients while incorporating
  • guidance from leadership, consistently applying supervisor feedback and adhering to
  • established project and industry standards.

 

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Note: candidates who do not have

mandatory skills will not be considered.

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent, in a business, communications, or technology-related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in specifying, analyzing, and documenting requirements for mission-critical business applications in a web/client-server environment.
  • Strong facilitation skills and proven experience in driving consensus across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Expertise using Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and confidently with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts. 
  • trong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to interpret business needs and translate them into application requirements. 
  • Process-driven analysis skills and a background in various requirements elicitation methods. 
  • Proficiency with Waterfall, RUP, and Agile SDLC processes. 
  • Ability to accurately estimate level of work to be provided for delivery commitments to stakeholders.

 

Preferred Skills/Experience for Consultant Candidates:

  • Effective presentation and leadership skills. 
  • Proficient in JIRA, Confluence, and MS SharePoint Server. 
  • Previous experience building/supporting applications built in Salesforce.
