Senior Mechanical Engineer (10+ Years). Candidates must be able to work a hybrid work schedule out of our client's Atlanta, GA office. There is no option for a fully remote work schedule. Candidates must have an active Professional Engineer (PE) License as well as prior proven experience with Business Development (BD/BDM).
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of ten years of experience for our client's Duluth, GA office. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm. The successful individual will work closely with our client's business development team and other discipline leads in developing technical proposals and will take a proactive role in marketing/business development. This role provides the opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multidiscipline office. This candidate will be working directly with clients providing consulting services.
The ideal candidate will have experience in providing engineering for a variety of projects involving HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and coordinating multifaceted projects. We are seeking innovative, results-oriented individuals who value high standards of performance and collaborative teamwork.
Qualifications:Perform the following functions:
- Design of HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Manage and design multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Lead design team efforts.
- Manage project team for budget and schedule control.
- Develop fee and qualification-based proposals.
- Familiarity with relevant codes: mechanical, energy, plumbing and ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards.
- Reading and preparing project drawings including ductwork plans, piping plans, sections, isometric piping drawings, and bills of materials.
- Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programs.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
- Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint software preferred. Must understand database concepts. Working knowledge of marketing databases and proposal resources files.
- Conduct marketing/business development activities.
- Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
- Ability to travel.
Qualifications - Bachelor's Degress (B.S) in Mechanical engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering (required).
- 10 to 15 years of experience.
- Experience with Load Calculation Software.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Project Management experience and/or certifications.
- Desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams.
- Experience with energy modeling is a plus.
- Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus.
- Active local industry involvement is a plus.
