Summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing SharePoint site content, site capabilities, and providing ongoing administration and maintenance of existing SharePoint applications. This role involves participating in the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, implementation, deployment, and ongoing support.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities

As a SharePoint Developer, you will:

  • Develop, customize, enhance, and maintain SharePoint Foundation-based applications using current Microsoft technologies and industry best practices.
  • Work with Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software built on the SharePoint platform, performing both back-end SharePoint development and front-end configuration/customization.
  • Analyze business requirements and information needs by collaborating with business stakeholders and IT management to deliver scalable and efficient SharePoint solutions.
  • Study system workflows, data usage, and business processes to design, develop, debug, test, deploy, and maintain software applications.
  • Design, develop, configure, and maintain key components of the SharePoint software suite using SharePoint Foundation and front-end application configurations.
  • Develop custom SharePoint solutions utilizing SharePoint Designer and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Implement, customize, and maintain SharePoint Foundation-based workflows to automate business processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve software defects, application issues, and system performance problems within the SharePoint environment.
  • Participate in software testing activities including review, analysis, implementation, validation, debugging, defect resolution, and deployment support.
  • Develop proof-of-concept (POC) solutions to evaluate new technologies, demonstrate capabilities, and support business initiatives.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including system designs, process documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, technical specifications, charts, code comments, and user documentation.
  • Produce clean, well-structured, maintainable, and reusable code while adhering to development standards and coding best practices.
  • Protect organizational operations by maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information and ensuring compliance with security policies and organizational standards.
  • Work closely with DOR business stakeholders on a daily basis to support business objectives and continuously improve SharePoint-based solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''''''''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in SharePoint development using SharePoint Foundation and SharePoint Designer.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting web-based applications.
  • Experience with C#, VB.NET, and other .NET technologies is desired.
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint workflows, application customization, and SDLC.
  • Microsoft SharePoint Development Certification(s) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Lanteria HR Software is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and committed to delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
