Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Onsite)
Role Overview
Our organization is seeking a Senior Production Systems Architect to join the Operational Intelligence Team. This individual will participate in the development and implementation of a monitoring strategy and solutions aligned with core business information flows and systems architecture. This role involves providing integrated systems planning, recommending new technologies to enhance current systems, and serving as a proficient technical resource to support critical business applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the development, documentation, and implementation of the monitoring strategy with a focus on standards and application instrumentation.
- Drive the rollout of the strategic monitoring tool across banking applications.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for monitoring tools that are part of the global strategy.
- Set up monitoring for applications on cloud and container infrastructure.
- Host demos, overviews, and training for monitoring tools to support adoption across teams.
- Consult with application support teams to assist in the configuration of monitoring events and dashboards.
- Prepare reports on monitoring tool adoption and other relevant metrics.
- Participate in global discussions on the evolution of the global monitoring strategy.
Required Qualifications
Education: A four-year college degree is required.
Experience:- 5+ years in a production systems architecting or support role.
- 2+ years of development or architecture experience for multi-tiered business applications.
- Proven experience in application/network performance and availability monitoring.
- Proven experience in N-Tier Architecture supporting products such as web servers, middleware, and databases.
Technical Skills:- Proven experience with supporting monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Tivoli, Splunk, SiteScope, or Catchpoint.
- Familiarity with supporting monitoring on cloud and container infrastructure.
- Knowledge of OS (Windows/Unix) based infrastructure services, processing, and shell scripts.
- Proven experience in programming languages (Java and/or .NET).
- Knowledge of ITIL functions and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the development or support of banking applications.
- Experience in Major Incident Management.
- Business acumen and experience working in a large, multi-data center enterprise environment.
- A strategic thinker who can link business context to technical reality.
