ROLE SUMMARY
The hands-on application engineer responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting cloud-native applications on AWS. Builds backend services using Python and Java, develops web user experiences with ReactJS, implements serverless components with AWS Lambda, deploys containerized workloads with AWS Fargate, creates secure APIs through Amazon API Gateway, and integrates application components with SQL databases.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cloud-native application development - Design, develop, test, and maintain AWS-based applications and services using Python, Java, and managed cloud capabilities.
Java backend development - Build maintainable Java services and application components using sound object-oriented, API, testing, and integration practices.
ReactJS development - Develop modular, responsive ReactJS user interfaces that securely consume backend APIs and support enterprise application workflows.
Serverless development - Build event-driven and request-driven components using AWS Lambda, including integrations, failure handling, logging, and performance optimization.
Container application delivery - Package and deploy application workloads using AWS Fargate and appropriate container-based runtime patterns.
API engineering - Develop secure REST APIs and service interfaces; configure API Gateway routing, integrations, authorization, validation, throttling, and monitoring.
SQL integration - Develop efficient SQL queries and integrate services with relational databases while maintaining data integrity and performance.
AWS deployments - Support application deployments and collaborate on repeatable CI/CD and release automation practices.
Security and reliability - Apply secure coding, authentication, authorization, encryption, observability, resilience, and error-recovery practices.
Testing and troubleshooting - Create automated tests, validate integrations, troubleshoot application issues, and implement corrective improvements.
Documentation and collaboration - Produce technical designs, API specifications, deployment guidance, operating procedures, and knowledge-transfer material
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong application development experience including hands-on AWS cloud application development and deployment experience.
Core requirement - Strong Python, Java, ReactJS, AWS Lambda, AWS Fargate, API development, Amazon API Gateway, and SQL experience.
Delivery capability - Ability to develop, deploy, test, troubleshoot, and support full-stack cloud application services.
Preferred - Experience with containerized services, CI/CD automation, AWS observability, and secure enterprise application delivery.
