IT System Administrator (L2/L3) | Hybrid Cloud & Virtualization

Location: Katy, TX (On-site/Hybrid)

Reports to: CIO

Experience Level: 3–7+ Years

The Opportunity

We are seeking a versatile IT System Administrator to own the reliability, security, and scalability of our enterprise infrastructure. Reporting directly to the CIO, you will manage a high-availability environment encompassing Windows/Linux servers, robust virtualization, and evolving cloud integrations. This is a "hands-on" role where you will bridge the gap between high-level architecture and day-to-day technical excellence.

Technical Stack & Environment

• OS: Windows Server (Active Directory/GPO), Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu)

• Virtualization: VMware vSphere / Hyper-V

• Networking: Cisco/Ubiquiti (VLANs, VPN, Firewalls, DHCP/DNS)

• Cloud: Microsoft 365 / Azure Administration

• Monitoring/Backups: SolarWinds, PRTG, Veeam, or similar

• Automation: PowerShell or Bash scripting

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and optimize physical and virtual servers. Ensure 99.9% uptime through proactive patching and capacity planning.

• Network & Security: Maintain LAN/WAN/VPN connectivity. Enforce security protocols (SOC/GDPR compliance) and manage identity through Active Directory.

• Disaster Recovery: Lead backup strategies and regular restoration testing to ensure business continuity.

• Escalated Support: Act as the Tier 2/3 escalation point for complex hardware, OS, and enterprise application issues (Oracle ERP).

• Cloud Evolution: Manage the M365 environment and assist in the migration/management of Azure/AWS cloud workloads.

Who You Are

• The Troubleshooter: You don''t just fix symptoms; you find root causes.

• The Communicator: You can document a complex SOP and explain a network outage to non-technical stakeholders with equal clarity.

• The Professional: You have a degree in CS/IT (or equivalent experience) and at least 3 years in a dedicated Sysadmin role.

• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800/801)

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

• CompTIA Security+ or Network+

• ITIL Foundation

Work Environment & Benefits
