Description:
Position Summary
The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient facility operations. This role requires hands-on experience with HVAC systems, electrical components, and general building maintenance. The ideal candidate is proactive, safety-focused, and capable of working independently to resolve maintenance issues.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems to ensure proper operation and efficiency
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, breakers, and equipment controls
- Perform preventative maintenance on facility equipment and building systems
- Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs in a timely manner
- Maintain facility infrastructure, including plumbing, fixtures, doors, and structural components
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and facility procedures
- Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection records
- Coordinate with outside contractors when specialized repairs are required
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in facility maintenance or industrial maintenance
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance
- Electrical experience, including basic wiring, diagnostics, and repairs
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Physical ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in various environments
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC certification or related technical training
- Electrical certification or trade school education
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility
- Familiarity with safety regulations and preventative maintenance programs
