Job Description

What You'll Do
  • Support the design and sizing of electrical drive system components, including transformers, front ends, power bridges, and input/output filters.
  • Assist in the development and validation of motor control and power converter control algorithms.
  • Develop and maintain simulation models for power electronic systems, electric motors, and industrial drive applications.
  • Participate in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and real-time simulation activities to verify system performance.
  • Support software integration and testing activities in laboratory and production environments.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop control sequences based on application requirements and system constraints.
  • Analyze test results, investigate technical issues, and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Participate in system integration and performance validation activities.
  • Provide technical support during commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of installations at customer sites.
  • Travel occasionally to support field activities on marine vessels, offshore platforms, LNG facilities, and other industrial installations worldwide.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electrical Machines, Control Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 0 to 5 years of experience in power electronics, electrical drives, motor control, industrial automation, or related engineering fields.
  • Strong understanding of electrical machines, transformers, and three-phase power systems.
  • Fundamental knowledge of power electronic converters such as rectifiers and inverters.
  • Familiarity with control theory and motor control concepts.
  • Experience with engineering simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.
  • Willingness to travel periodically for commissioning and troubleshooting support.

Preferred Characteristics
  • Exposure to Variable Speed Drives (VSD/VFD) through coursework, projects, internships, or industry experience.
  • Familiarity with motor control techniques such as Field-Oriented Control (FOC) or Vector Control.
  • Knowledge of PWM and modulation techniques.
  • Experience with embedded control systems or industrial automation.
  • Exposure to real-time simulation, digital twins, or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
  • Basic programming experience in C/C++, MATLAB, Python, or structured text.
  • Understanding of industrial applications such as marine, energy, oil & gas, mining, or manufacturing systems.

Why Join Us?
  • Learn from industry experts in medium-voltage drives and advanced power electronics.
  • Work on technologies that power critical industrial infrastructure around the world.
  • Gain hands-on experience across controls, software, simulation, testing, and system integration.
  • Participate in real-world commissioning and troubleshooting activities at customer sites globally.
  • Build expertise in emerging technologies such as electrification, digital twins, Hardware-in-the-Loop testing, and advanced motor controls.
  • Develop a broad technical skill set with a clear path toward technical leadership and specialized engineering roles.
