Description:
About the Role

This role supports the design, development, and lifecycle management of high-reliability digital and RF/microwave hardware. The engineer will ensure electronic components meet performance, quality, and lifecycle requirements while supporting production and sustaining engineering efforts. The position involves close collaboration with design, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research component construction, termination styles, and encapsulation methods
  • Develop and maintain Vendor Identification, Source Control, and Altered Item Drawings
  • Lead component part selection and standardization activities
  • Manage engineering bills of materials and process change notices using PLM tools
  • Develop and execute component qualification and screening plans
  • Coordinate with external test houses for qualification and screening activities
  • Assess product change notices and obsolescence impacts to active programs
  • Lead component failure investigations and root cause analysis
  • Interface with customers to communicate part changes and technical impacts
  • Support alternate test house qualification and finish mitigation efforts
  • Review and approve component data within PCB library systems
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Professional experience in component engineering or electronic parts engineering
  • Experience with electronic component selection and qualification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Experience using PTC Windchill for BOM and configuration management
  • Experience with Siemens Expedition or similar PCB library tools
  • Background in RF or microwave component selection
  • Hands-on experience with component qualification testing and failure analysis
  • Working knowledge of military and automotive electronics standards
