  • Hands-on knowledge of warehouse automation, conveyors, sortation, robotics, and material handling systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

Domain & Solution Consulting
  • Serve as a WES domain expert across inbound, outbound, sortation, picking, packing, and shipping workflows.
  • Advise on WES architecture and orchestration logic, acting as the "brain" between WMS, WCS, robotics, and material handling equipment.
  • Support build vs. buy decisions, WES modernization, and migration from 3rd party platforms where applicable.
  • Define future-state WES capabilities, including scalability, resiliency, and automation expansion.

Business & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Engage with IT leadership, warehouse operations and automation teams to understand business problems and operational KPIs.
  • Translate operational pain points into WES-driven solutions with measurable outcomes (throughput, pick accuracy, labor optimization, SLA adherence).
  • Lead or support executive discussions, PoVs, and roadmap creation for WES transformation initiatives.

Implementation & Delivery Support
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define functional requirements, business rules, and integration patterns.
  • Guide teams on task prioritization, carton streaming, wave-less execution, and dynamic decisioning.
  • Support pilot rollouts, phased deployments, and scale-up across distribution/fulfillment centers.
  • Partner with vendors and OEMs (conveyors, sorters, robotics, AMRs, PLCs).
  • Advanced / Emerging Capabilities (Good to Have)
  • Identify opportunities for AI/ML or agent-based decisioning within WES (e.g., dynamic task assignment, congestion avoidance).
  • Contribute to automation and robotics strategy in high-volume fulfillment environments
