Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced PEGA Smart Dispute Product Owner with strong expertise in requirements gathering, analysis, and backlog creation for financial dispute management solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PEGA Smart Dispute, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work closely with business directors, stakeholders, and technical teams to define and deliver high-quality product requirements.

This role plays a critical part in driving product vision, defining user stories, and ensuring alignment between business needs and technical execution.


Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Requirement Gathering

  • Lead end-to-end product ownership for PEGA Smart Dispute initiatives.

  • Capture, analyze, and refine detailed business and functional requirements for dispute management workflows.

  • Collaborate with business directors, SMEs, and stakeholders to understand needs, pain points, and expected outcomes.

  • Translate business requirements into well-defined user stories, acceptance criteria, and product documentation.

Backlog Management

  • Create, maintain, and prioritize a high-quality product backlog aligned with business goals and project milestones.

  • Ensure user stories are clear, estimable, testable, and technically feasible.

  • Facilitate grooming/refinement sessions with development teams.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and PEGA delivery teams.

  • Communicate project updates, priorities, risks, and dependencies to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Work closely with PEGA developers, QA testers, and architects to ensure alignment and clarity.

Analysis & Product Strategy

  • Conduct gap analysis for current vs. target-state dispute workflows and systems.

  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, enhance user experience, and optimize throughput.

  • Support planning activities, including roadmap definition, release planning, and sprint planning.

Delivery Support

  • Participate in sprint ceremonies (daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives).

  • Ensure delivered features meet acceptance criteria and business expectations.

  • Assist with UAT planning, coordination, and validation.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst.

  • Strong expertise with PEGA Smart Dispute platform and its end-to-end functionalities.

  • Proven experience gathering and analyzing requirements for dispute management systems in the banking/financial domain.

  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to analyze complex business processes and convert them into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with major financial institutions or banking clients.

  • Knowledge of payments, fraud, chargebacks, and dispute resolution processes.

  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and similar tools.

  • PEGA certifications (CPBA, CSSA, etc.) are a plus.
