Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Systems Engineer, SME position. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and talented group of individuals committed to driving success.

The ideal candidate oversees the alignment, integration, and execution of multiple programs and initiatives supported by the BMC3I Elite platform. This role ensures cohesive portfolio performance, drives cross-program synchronization, manages dependencies, and enhances enterprise service delivery through data-driven planning and prioritization.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in enterprise portfolio management, program integration, ITSM strategy, and optimization of BMC3I Elite solutions. This individual engages with senior leaders, program managers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to ensure portfolio health, improve operational efficiency, and advance organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer, SME will:

  • Oversee the planning, prioritization, and alignment of programs within the BMC3I Elite portfolio
  • Ensure all initiatives support organizational strategy, resource constraints, and business objectives
  • Manage portfolio dashboards, performance indicators, reporting cycles, and governance processes
  • Identify, manage, and resolve cross-program dependencies, risks, and integration issues
  • Facilitate collaboration across program teams to ensure synchronized delivery and consistent standards
  • Support road map development, multi-year planning, and enterprise capability integration
  • Leverage BMC3I Elite/Helix tools to enhance portfolio visibility, workflow automation, and reporting accuracy
  • Coordinate with system architects and administrators to optimize platform configuration and data integrity
  • Drive adoption of BMC3I Elite portfolio and program management features
  • Provide regular executive briefings, portfolio health assessments, and decision-support materials
  • Act as a strategic advisor to leadership on portfolio performance, resource allocation, and program alignment
  • Collaborate with business units, finance teams, and technical leaders to ensure integrated planning
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to strengthen portfolio management maturity
  • Maintain documentation, governance standards, and compliance with organizational policies
  • Support audits, reviews, and performance assessments of programs and portfolio processes


Responsibilities

Skills & Experience

The Systems Engineer, SME must have:

  • Active TS/SCI with SAP Access
  • 15+ years of experience in portfolio management, program integration, or enterprise project management
  • Experience with BMC3I Elite, BMC3I Helix, or comparable ITSM/ESM portfolio management platforms
  • Strong understanding of portfolio management, program integration, and enterprise planning frameworks
  • Expertise with dashboards, reporting tools, workflow automation, and data analytics.
  • Experience developing and managing multi-program roadmaps, dependencies, and resource plans
  • Knowledge of ITIL, ITSM life cycle management, and enterprise service delivery processes
  • Demonstrated success working across multiple programs in complex technical or IT environments
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and risk management abilities
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, briefing, and executive interaction skills


Education & Certifications

The Systems Engineer, SME must have the following:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Systems, Engineering, Project/Program Management, or related field


Preferred

  • Master's degree (MBA, MIS, MPM, or similar)
  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • PMI-PgMP (Program Management Professional) or PfMP (Portfolio Management Professional)
  • ITIL v4 Foundation or higher
  • SAFe Agilist, Scrum Master, or PMI-ACP
  • BMC3I Elite/BMC3I Helix training or certifications

Security Clearance

A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
