Location : Wilkes Barre, PA (Day one onsite 5 days/week)

We are looking for a Data Product Architect to lead our enterprise-wide data transformation initiative.

This executive-level role will oversee the modernization of our data ecosystem using Fabric and cloud technologies, enabling advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven decision-making.

The Data Product Architect will define strategic data vision, establish governance frameworks, and drive measurable business outcomes across our insurance operations including claims, underwriting, actuarial science, and customer experience.

  • Architectural Leadership: Lead the technical implementation and management of our Data Mesh architecture. Oversee the development of data products, ensuring they align with strategic objectives and data mesh principles for specific domains (e.g., Underwriting, Claims).
  • Product Discovery & Design: Lead the product discovery phase and create the initial high-level technical design of data products. Ensure they are designed, developed, and maintained with the same rigor as any software product.
  • Domain Transformation: Partner with business domain leads to lead the implementation and adoption of a decentralized data product marketplace.
  • Strategic Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary technical point of contact between cross-functional teams, IT, and business leaders. Translate business opportunities into scalable data product designs.
  • Governance Framework: Define and implement Federated Governance and data quality practices to maintain a clean, current, and trustworthy data marketplace.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire data product lifecycle across continuous discovery and delivery cycles.
  • Standards & Advocacy: Advocate for the data mesh approach within the organization. Provide technical guidance and support to teams adapting to this decentralized architecture.
  • Market Alignment: Ensure that the architectural design of data products aligns with market trends, regulatory requirements, and corporate business goals.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of professional experience in Data Architecture or Data Product Management.
  • Proven experience in implementing or managing Data Mesh or decentralized data environments.
  • Proven ability to lead the technical "Product Discovery" phase and translate business problems into technical product features.
  • Expertise in aligning technical solutions with business strategy and revenue drivers.
  • Experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum or Kanban) and product management tools.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication; ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
