Summary

Position Title: Data Architect with Health Care Payer Domain

Location: Hybrid, Philadelphia, PA Employment Type: Contract to Hire

Experience Level: 10+ years

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable, secure data systems and interoperability solutions (USCDI-US Core compliant).
Develop and maintain healthcare-specific data models (clinical, claims, member, provider, EHR).
Evaluate and recommend data management platforms, frameworks, and tools.
Establish and enforce data governance policies ensuring integrity, quality, and compliance.
Collaborate with analysts, scientists, and IT teams to align architecture with business goals.
Optimize data storage for real-time and historical access.
Stay current with emerging healthcare data technologies and propose innovative solutions.
Provide guidance and training to team members.

Skills & Experience

Expertise in data architecture, databases, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
Strong knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, HIE, USCDI).
Proficiency in SQL/NoSQL, Python, PySpark, and data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin).
Experience with integration tools (Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Kafka, Informatica, IBM Datastage).
Familiarity with BI/analytics platforms.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years in data architecture, with 5+ years in healthcare.
Experience designing interoperability solutions and managing large-scale healthcare data systems.
Cloud data platform expertise (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
Familiarity with major EHR systems (Epic, Cerner)
