We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Systems Engineer III to join our remote network surveillance and troubleshooting team supporting the company s 5G RAN network. This on-site role focuses on monitoring, testing, maintaining, and restoring the 5G RAN network. The ideal candidate will lead Tier II field diagnostics, outage restoration, and mentor Tier I NOC staff while supporting new 5G site deployments and fronthaul transport initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide on-site operational support to detect incidents, troubleshoot problems, and implement resolutions for deployed 5G Core, RAN, Transport, and other network systems nationwide.
Quickly analyze RAN service and system issues, determine corrective actions, implement service restoration steps, and escalate complex issues as needed.
Document corrective actions in ticketing systems and ensure proper escalation processes.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives, identify automation opportunities, and improve overall service uptime and customer experience.
Support high-stress network outage situations, collaborating with Tier II engineers, Tier I technicians, field operations, vendors, and executive leadership.
Engage internal and vendor support teams to resolve critical or time-sensitive network impairments.
Collect traces for network faults using vendor-specific tools and network probes.
Develop and update technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides, MOPs (Method of Procedure), and technical specifications for system changes.
Assist stakeholders in defining business and system requirements for new technology deployments.
Support ongoing CI/CD, orchestration, and automation initiatives for network operations.
Conduct semi-annual and annual site maintenance and document all activities accurately.
Provide incident reviews, root cause analysis, and lessons learned to improve network reliability and processes.
Qualifications:
Must be able to work on-site in the Atlanta market.
OSHA 10 Certified & RF Awareness.
Samsung Wireless 5G Deployment and Integration certification (Radio & CUDU) Highly Desired.
Minimum 2 years of experience in Transport Knowledge and Troubleshooting (Backhaul, Fronthaul).
Experience performing construction site pre-walks and evaluating operational safety.
Proficient in alarm monitoring, fault identification, event tracking, documentation, and escalation.
Ability to perform in high-stress environments and manage urgent issues with professionalism.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical and non-technical concepts effectively.
Extensive knowledge of computer systems, network monitoring applications, OSI layers, and electronic test equipment.
Advanced understanding of cell site topology, transport systems, RF KPIs, and 5G RAN split functions (RU, DU, CU, CP, UP, 7-2x).
Ability to read and interpret RAN artifacts, CIQs, network diagrams, call flow documents, and deployment MOPs.
Experience creating root cause analyses (RCAs) and reporting to executive leadership.
Ability to quickly learn new tools and systems and multitask effectively.
