Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SAP BDC & Databricks Solution Architect to support an enterprise SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) Proof of Concept (POC) and related data/AI initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SAP BDC, SAP Datasphere, Databricks, and AI/ML, along with the ability to lead solution design, architecture decisions, and customer-facing technical discussions.

The candidate will work closely with SAP, BDC, Finance, and data teams to design scalable data and AI/ML solutions, integrate SAP and non-SAP data sources, and establish best practices for enterprise implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI/ML use cases using Databricks, including model development, experimentation, validation, tuning, and deployment.
• Work with SAP BDC and SAP Datasphere data products to prepare enterprise data for downstream analytics and AI/ML workloads.
• Design scalable and governed Databricks data and ML architectures using Delta Lake and modern data engineering patterns.
• Develop and optimize data pipelines supporting AI/ML workloads.
• Define best practices for feature engineering, model development, ML lifecycle management, and productionization.
• Leverage MLflow for experiment tracking, model management, deployment, and lifecycle governance.
• Provide technical guidance on Databricks architecture, performance, scalability, security, and governance.
• Integrate SAP and non-SAP data sources for enterprise analytics and AI/ML use cases.
• Collaborate with SAP BDC/Datasphere and Finance teams to translate business requirements into practical AI/ML solutions.
• Support SAP BDC POCs and enterprise implementations and independently recommend appropriate implementation patterns.
• Mentor customer teams and serve as the technical point of reference for Databricks and AI/ML capabilities.

Required Skills

• Hands-on implementation experience with SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC).
• Strong hands-on experience implementing Databricks solutions.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP Datasphere, including:
  • Data modeling
  • Replication and transformation flows
  • Data Products
  • BDC Connect
  • Delta Sharing
• Strong Python, PySpark, and Spark SQL skills.
• Hands-on experience with MLflow and ML model lifecycle management.
• Strong knowledge of Databricks architecture and Delta Lake.
• Experience with:
  • Predictive analytics
  • Time-series forecasting
  • Feature engineering
  • Model training and evaluation
  • Model tuning and deployment
• Experience building scalable data pipelines for ML workloads.
• Experience integrating SAP and non-SAP data sources.
• Customer-facing solution design and technical leadership experience.
• Ability to independently lead a POC and recommend scalable implementation patterns.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA CDS Views.
• Experience supporting Finance Analytics / FP&A use cases.
• Experience with forecasting and enterprise AI/ML implementations.
• Experience working with SAP Finance and enterprise data teams.
• Strong communication, architecture, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
