Product Content Designer / UX Writer
Location: Hybrid onsite Tues - Thurs - in West Loop
Experience: 3 5 years
Contract: 12-month contract as a W2 employee of Talent Groups.
We are seeking a Product Content Designer / UX Writer to join an Experience Design team supporting digital products used by frontline and field employees.
This role is ideal for a content professional who understands that product content is more than words on a screen. You ll work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to create clear, intuitive, and useful in-product experiences that help employees accomplish their work efficiently.
The ideal candidate has experience creating content within digital products and corporate product teams, rather than a background focused primarily on marketing, blogging, journalism, or traditional content creation.
What You ll Do
- Create clear, concise, and user-focused content for digital products and experiences.
- Partner with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, Engineers, and other cross-functional stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Develop and refine UX copy including interface content, instructions, error messages, notifications, workflows, and other in-product experiences.
- Translate complex product functionality and business requirements into content that is easy for frontline and field users to understand and act on.
- Advocate for the user and help ensure content is consistent, intuitive, accessible, and aligned with the overall digital experience.
- Collaborate within design workflows and contribute content directly in tools such as Figma.
- Help establish and maintain content patterns, standards, and best practices across digital products.
- Use AI tools thoughtfully to support content development, ideation, refinement, and workflow efficiency.
- Work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment where priorities and product requirements may evolve.
What We re Looking For
- 3 5 years of professional experience in Product Content Design, UX Writing, Content Design, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience creating in-product content within a corporate product or technology environment.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and digital product experiences.
- Experience designing content for enterprise, SaaS, employee-facing, operational, or frontline-user applications is highly valued.
- Ability to simplify complex information and create content that helps users successfully navigate digital products and complete their work.
- Figma experience preferred, with openness to candidates who have worked in other product/design tools.
- Familiarity with AI tools and their practical application within a content or design workflow.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- A portfolio demonstrating relevant product/UX content work is strongly preferred.
What This Role Is Not
This is not primarily a marketing or traditional content-writing role. We are specifically looking for someone who has worked within product teams and has experience shaping the content users encounter inside digital products.
Candidates whose experience is primarily blogging, marketing copywriting, journalism, or long-form editorial content may not be the best fit unless they also have meaningful product content or UX writing experience.
