Job Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to define and guide the architecture of retail applications and digital solutions. The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, onsite technology teams, and offshore delivery teams to design scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions aligned with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Define end-to-end solution architecture based on business requirements, existing systems, and enterprise standards
- Translate functional and non-functional requirements into technical architecture, design specifications, and implementation guidelines
- Design solutions involving web applications, APIs, cloud services, databases, workflow automation, and enterprise systems
- Establish standards for API design, authentication, error handling, logging, monitoring, and exception management
- Provide technical guidance to development teams and conduct architecture and design reviews
- Define non-functional requirements and acceptance criteria for performance, availability, scalability, and security
- Collaborate with onsite and offshore teams to ensure consistent understanding of architecture and design decisions
- Support root-cause analysis of complex production issues and recommend long-term architectural solutions
Required Skills
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, application architecture, or technology solution delivery
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud architecture
- Proficiency in Angular, .NET/C#, SQL Server, and REST APIs
- Experience with enterprise integration patterns and API-first design
- Understanding of identity management, SSO, RBAC, application security, and data protection
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, source control, and automated testing
- Strong stakeholder communication, technical documentation, and analytical skills
Preferred Skills
- Microsoft Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse
- Retail, consumer goods, beverage distribution, or supply chain domain experience
- Experience with POS, demand forecasting, inventory management, or order management systems
- Application modernization and migration from legacy or low-code platforms
Location & Work Model
Niles, IL — Hybrid with 3 days onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). Remote the remaining days.

Contract engagement with an immediate sourcing need. Candidates must be commutable to Niles, IL for onsite days.
